Patricia Junquera

Medical Director

Dr. Junquera graduated Summa cum Laude and received her doctorate in medicine from UCIMED in San Jose, Costa Rica. She completed residency training in Psychiatry in her native Miami, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Association with the University of Miami and the VA Medical Center. Subsequently Dr. Junquera went on to complete a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry and developed a special interest in the field of Addiction Psychiatry. Upon graduating she became Academic Director of the outpatient clinic at the VA Medical Center, while at the VA; Dr. Junquera had the opportunity to split her time and pursue the field of Addiction. In 2010-2012 was the Medical Director for the Detox Unit at Jackson Behavioral Health.

She was the Founding program Director and Assistant Professor of the Psychiatry Program at Citrus Health in affiliation with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health HWCOM at FIU. She was part of the consult liaison team at Mt Sinai Medical center in Miami Beach and created a med psych rotation in the medical residency.

Dr Junquera served Miami Dade County as the Medical Director for Behavioral Health for the largest County Correctional facilities to house mentally ill patients and as such set forth changes in the system that will endure for time to come to improve the care of this population in our jails and correctional system. After leaving corrections Dr. Junquera has been part of the Crisis team at the Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital as the Senior ED Psychiatrist.

Dr. Junquera has received several teaching awards from the University of Miami and a Special Care award from the Veterans Administration in 2009, for “going above and beyond the call of duty” in her clinical duties. Business Leader in Miami honored Dr. Junquera as Woman Extraordinaire of 2011. She is also a recipient of Latino’s Who’s Who 2011, Top psychiatrist 2019. Dr Junquera has a passion for teaching and eliminating the stigma of mental illness.

Dr. Junquera is currently Interim Chair, Vice Chair of Clinical Services, Associate Professor and Director of Multidisciplinary Education at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University. Currently involved in clinical research with TMS and Alzheimer’s Disease.

She serves as the medical director at Altitude Health and brings all of her experience and drive to the role.

Dr. Nick Lalynynch

Chief Operating Officer

Nicholas M. Kalynych, CRNA, is an accomplished Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with a distinguished academic and professional career. He holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of North Florida and a Master of Science in Health Science from George Washington University.

With over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, he has served in various roles, including Chief CRNA, Senior Clinical Director, and Director of Peri-operative Services, displaying adaptability in both civilian and military healthcare settings.

In addition to his clinical roles, Mr. Kalynych is a co-founding partner and consultant of Sunbelt Anesthesia Solutions, LLC, and has served as an independent CRNA provider for several medical organizations.

His military service includes roles in the Anesthesia Department of the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He is a certified provider in Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Care and an active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

As a dedicated educator, Mr. Kalynych has held positions as Clinical Instructor and Assistant Program Director at the University of North Florida since 2005. His academic involvement extends to committee service, including the Admissions and Evaluation Committees of the Department of Nurse Anesthesia.

He also held key positions at the University of Florida, Shands Medical Center, including Chair of the Peri-operative Value Analysis and Standardization Committee and Associate Chair of the Peri-operative Functional Efficiency Committee.

Mr. Kalynych is an accomplished researcher and author with numerous co-authored articles on various anesthesia-related topics. He has presented his findings at prestigious conferences, including the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists National Congress and the Florida Association of SWAT Officers Annual Conference.

As a Clinical Instructor and Coordinator at the University of North Florida since 2007, he has lectured on various aspects of anesthesia to graduate and doctorate students in the nurse anesthesia program.

Amanda Alexander

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Altitude Health
Amanda Alexander is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and serves as one of the lead providers for Altitude Health. She has experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages. She has received training in the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked in the medical field for 15 years and has held clinical leadership roles.

She is passionate about clients that struggle with treatment resistant depression and utilizes evidence-based modalities in her treatment plans. These treatments include the use of ketamine in combination with psychotherapy and mindfulness. Amanda approaches each client as an individual and understands that each person is unique in their mental health challenges. She utilizes a person centered and heart centric approach to empower her clients to find the healing powers that they possess within themselves.

Amanda finds great joy in being the mother of five amazing humans. She is a lover of animals and has many pets of her own. She enjoys spending time with her significant other in whatever adventures the universe provides. She cares for her own mental health through meditation, mindfulness, vegetables, and yoga. She has an open mind and an open heart and lives with peace, joy, and love as her guiding forces.

Amanda De Leon

Director of Administration

Amanda De Leon is a highly accomplished Human Resources professional with a background in the healthcare sector. She is known for her meticulous attention to detail, exceptional recruitment and retention strategies, and aptitude for personnel management.

Amanda excels in office administration and HR, with a keen understanding of effective interviewing and screening approaches.

Her organizational skills allow her to handle multiple complex administrative tasks concurrently.

Since 2017, Amanda has served as the HR Manager, handling responsibilities like maintaining payroll data, conducting interviews, reviewing job applications, and negotiating compensation packages.

Before this, she worked at Sunbelt Anesthesia/Sunbelt Wellness Institute, overseeing recruitment processes and collaborating with upper management to develop strategic plans. From 2008 to 2015, Amanda held the position of Paralegal/Investor Relations/Recording Secretary at U.S. PREVENTIVE MEDICINE.

Amanda has a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from Florida International University and an Associate of Science in Legal Studies from Florida State College at Jacksonville.
